During my previous internship at STUDIOMOM, I was involved in revamping the timeless Lotus chair. Studio MOM had acquired the rights to the chair from the original designer, Rob Parry. The goal was to rejuvenate this iconic design by addressing longstanding issues for modern use.
Given that the chair was initially crafted for users in the 1960s, several challenges surfaced during the redesign process. Ergonomic improvements, material durability, and intricate joinery presented notable hurdles. My responsibility involved pinpointing the necessary alterations to enhance the old design for contemporary needs.
