During my internship at StudioMOM, I had the opportunity to participate in the revitalization of the iconic Lotus chair, originally designed by Rob Parry. With StudioMOM acquiring the rights to this timeless piece, our goal was to breathe new life into its design while addressing longstanding issues to make it suitable for modern users.
Recognizing that the Lotus chair was originally crafted for the 1960s, we encountered several challenges during the redesign process. Key considerations included enhancing ergonomic features, improving material durability, and refining the intricate joinery. My role involved identifying and implementing the necessary modifications to adapt the classic design to contemporary needs, ensuring it remains both functional and aesthetically relevant.
